When creating pdf files we find that in most cases the best way is by writing a fat postscript file from your layout application and then distilling that postscript using Acrobat Distiller. The Distiller settings are very important in respect to the finished piece. We recommend using a Press Quality setting or its equivalent thereof. If desired you can downlod the below links for the prinergy distiller and prinergy refiner settings utilized at Three Z. This method is recommended, and will produce optimum results for files being sent to us. If using other methods of PDF creation you will need to check for the following. All fonts are embedded, contone images are not downsampled below 240, bitmap images are not downsampled below 1200.

On the Mac, in OSX place the ppd in this folder: Hard Drive\Library\Printers\PPDs\ Contents\Resources\en.lproj
Also, for QuarkXpress 6 to be able to utilize the ppd, place a copy of it in this folder: Hard Drive\your user name\library\Preferences\Quark\QuarkXPress6.0\PPD
